Benidorm continues with the activities programmed on the occasion of International Women's Day. This morning a self-defense workshop was held at Palau d'Esports l'Illa de Benidorm in which the participants were taught techniques to repel melee attacks and with different objects.
The mayor of the city, Toni Pérez, has visited the development of the activity accompanied by the Councilor for Equality, Ángela Zaragozí, and the Councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros. A workshop that has been given by Eva María Naranjo and Eduardo Martín, with the collaboration of the SPPBL union, and which has had the participation of thirty women.
Zaragozí explained that the workshop teaches "defense and control blocking techniques to eliminate fear", and that it is also "a meeting and socialization point for women".
The acts for 8-M will conclude on March 20 with the Red Cross exhibition 'Women of the world', in which the Department of Equality collaborates. It will be in the Espai d'Art of the Town Hall and can be visited until March 31.
