Zarate highlights the "important economic and image impact" for Benidorm hosting a championship of this magnitude, which has gathered more than 6,500 darters


Palau d'Esports l'Illa de Benidorm has welcomed this morning the awards and trophies of the XXVI National Electronic Darts Championship, organized by the Bullshooter Dart Federation, which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary. The Major Events councilman José Ramón González de Zárate; the councillor of the opposition Arturo Cabrillo; the director general of the Bullshooter Dart Federation, Rafael García; as well as delegates of the federation have been responsible for delivering trophies in different categories and types, both male and female, individual and team, played since last Thursday at the Palau. This competition, which every year chooses Benidorm, has gathered more than 6,500 'darters', although over the weekend, the championship has mobilized more than 11,000 people to enjoy the competition. It also is an event with a significant economic impact on the city, the high number of participants and overnight stays and that is celebrated in the month of November. José Ramón González de Zárate highlighted the fidelity of the tournament with Benidorm and said that "the organization recognizes that it is the participants themselves who want to be in Benidorm, because here there is excellent weather, good quality hotels and possibilities of leisure and entertainment is very difficult to find at this time of year elsewhere. " Zárate thanked the organization to continue "trusting in Benidorm to organize this sporting event, an event of great magnitude which is a big economic impact for the city," and added that "actions like this energize the offer of the city ​​at all levels. " The competition began on Thursday with the Benidorm Cup. To mark the 25th anniversary it was held a special Open sponsored by partner companies that has distributed scholarships amounting to 15,000 euros. The winners of the above categories will have the option to participate, with all expenses paid, in the International Championship to be held in Shanghai (China) or in Las Vegas (United States).
