More than 1,600 people participated in the twenty-third annual School Festival of the Federation of Parents' Associations of Marina Baixa (FAMPA), which took place yesterday afternoon at Benidorm Palace to raise funds for Aspanion, the Association of Parents of Children with Cancer in the Valencian Community.

Attendees included the Mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, along with other members of the council, who enjoyed a performance featuring students from the Ausiàs March Primary School, Mestre Gaspar López Primary School, Els Tolls Primary School, Leonor Canalejas Primary School, Puig Campana Primary School, and Vasco Núñez de Balboa Primary School; the Nuestra Señora de los Dolores Charter School; and the Mediterrània and Bernat de Sarrià Secondary Schools. Also performing were the municipal conservatories of Dance and Music; the Lilia Nikolova Rhythmic Gymnastics School and the Asmibe Expressions Group.

The president of the Benidorm Parents' Association (AMPA), Viviana Ankonetani, thanked the associated parents for their presence and acknowledged "the pleasure" of being able to organize "such a charitable event and, above all, seeing the faces of so many happy children." For her part, the representative of Aspanion Benidorm, Mª José Gutiérrez, thanked FAMPA for "thinking of Aspanion" and clarified that the total amount raised will be used to provide "social and economic support" to families who have to travel "outside our territory" for "their children's treatment."

Toni Pérez, for his part, described it as "a great success" to "unite the school festival with a good cause, to raise funds, in this case for Aspanion." The mayor emphasized that "Benidorm is very supportive," as demonstrated by filling the Benidorm Palace for two good reasons. First, "everything we contribute goes to Aspanion"; second, "to enjoy and applaud" the children and young people who would be the stars of the evening in the party room.

In addition to the charity ticket, the attendees participated in a charity raffle that featured twenty prizes offered by the collaborating companies.
