The offering to the Mare de Déu of Sofratge opens the acts of the 277 Anniversary of the Finding of the patroness of Benidorm
This Saturday the celebration of the offering to the Virgin of the Suffrage took place on the occasion of the 277 Anniversary of the Finding of the Mare de Déu del Sofratge, a pilgrimage that departed from Paseo Colón until arriving at the parish of St. James and Santa Ana accompanied by more of two hundred festive entities and peñistas who wanted to offer their patroness.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, the councillor of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, the Senator Agustín Almodóbar, the President of the Commission of Fiestas Antonio Vicente Fuster, the president of the Association of Penyes, Mariano Nájera, the queens of the Major Patron Festivities 2017, Àngela Antón Pérez and Anna Galiana Pérez, as well as members of the municipal corporation headed the offering that toured the main streets of Benidorm.
After the offering, the Children's Queen, Àngela Antón Pérez, recited a few verses in honor of the patroness and then fired a fireworks castle at Castelar square, in charge of Pirotécnica Valenciana.
The events were closed at Plaza Mayor with a popular verbena in where 'Granujas de medio pelo' acted.
