Dozens of people saw how the fire devoured the monuments before the tears of the beautiful Ana Orozco and other 'foguerers'

The 'Nit de la Cremà' puts an end to Hogueras 2024 festivities in La Cala de Benidorm

25 June 2024
La ‘Nit de la Cremà’ pone fin a la fiesta de las Hogueras en La Cala de Benidorm

Last night Benidorm put an end to the celebration of Hogueras 2024 in La Cala neighbourhood with an emotional 'Nit de la Cremà' that faithfully fulfilled the fire ritual. The event started shortly before eleven at night, with the Cremà of the children's monument, 'Esport i Festa', which was followed a few minutes after midnight by that of the adults' monument, 'Inspiraciones Asiáticas'. The beautiful Ana Orozco was in charge of lighting the fuse that ended up devouring this monument, but not before proceeding to pardon 'ninots' as a souvenir of this festive exercise. Finally, as tradition dictates, the evening ended with the traditional 'banyà' of the public.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the councillor for Fiestas, Mariló Cebreros, accompanied the beauty and the president of this commission, Jesús Antonio Pérez, along with the rest of the 'foguerers' of La Cala in the final act of their festivities. Other councilors from the municipal government were also present; the queens of the Major Patron Saint Festivities of 2024, Valentina Almodóbar Climent and Laia Zamora Picó; and representatives of the Committee of Major Patron Festivities and the Associació de Penyes Verge del Sofratge.

Both Pérez and Cebreros congratulated the commissioners of La Cala for celebrating these festivities and “for keeping alive the tradition of the Hogueras in Benidorm, our most Alicantinian festivity.” Finally, they wished “the same successes” for the 2025 festive cycle that will begin in the coming days.
