New edition of the UMH University Experience Classroom for people over 55 years of age
Starting next October, Benidorm will host a new edition of the University Experience Classroom of Miguel Hernández University (UMH), an educational program aimed at people over 55 years of age and which has been developing with great success for more than 20 years. success in the locality.
The councilor for Social Welfare, Ángela Zaragozí, has reported that the City Council has already opened the deadline to register for this activity and has invited people to participate in a project that "not only allows those who participate to expand their knowledge on different subjects but also also be active, socialize with people of the same age and share hobbies and concerns.”
Zaragozí has highlighted that “the only requirement to be part of AUNEX is to be over 55 years old” and that “people don't need to have previous studies, just an interest in learning.” Likewise, the councilor explained that the academic year will take place at its usual headquarters, José Llorca Llinares Social Center, from October 17 to May 16, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. In addition, all this will be completed with a cycle of seminars to expand the content taught until the end of May 2024.
In this edition, the University Classroom of Experience will have seven subjects of 15 hours duration each, whose program includes theoretical and practical contents of the subjects of Journalism, Literature, Art, Self-regulation skills and emotional intelligence, Botany, Physiology and European Union. The cost of the complete course amounts to 110 euros, 100 for registration and 10 for insurance. At the end of the two academic courses that make up the AUNEX, students will receive a certificate of achievement for attendance.
Finally, the Councilor for Social Welfare has indicated that the deadline to register is now open and can be processed electronically at the link https://www.umh.es/contenido/Estudios/:tit_fpo_14737/datos_es.html. Those who have difficulties doing it themselves or do not have computer facilities at home can go to the offices of the Department of Social Welfare, located on Pintor Lozano Street, this Wednesday, September 27, and Monday, October 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; or to the José Llorca Llinares Social Center on Friday, September 29. They must provide ID and bank card associated with the mobile phone application to pay the registration fee since the reservation of a place is made automatically with the payment of the same.
