Municipal Laboratory and Boca del Calvari open their doors to the students of Bernat de Sarrià

Students of Baccalaurate in science of the IES Bernat de Sarrià have made this morning a visit to the Municipal Laboratory of Benidorm that depends on the Department of Health. The purpose of this experience is to learn first-hand about the control work carried out daily by the Town Council professionals, with the aim of ensuring the quality of waters and sands of our beaches and ravines, and the food served in the school canteens, among others.

17 students participated in the experience, at all times accompanied by their teachers, Teresa Vélez and Enrique Megía. The students received in the laboratory information on the activities that take place in it, checked how the periodic analyzes and controls are done (as previously taught in class), and, finally, they raised questions to the municipal technicians .

After the visit to the Laboratory and taking advantage of the proximity, the students moved to Boca del Calvari Museum where, since Friday, you can contemplate the exhibition 'Parc Natural de la Serra Gelada. Les llums de l'abisme ', by the Artistic Photography professor at the School of Higher Art of Valencia and Benidorm, Jaume Fuster. There, the Councilor for Health and Historical Heritage, Ana Pellicer, who had accompanied them during the guided tour through the 52 images on display, was waiting for them.

"It is important," said Ana Pellicer, "that young people know how the City Council takes care of the quality of the waters of our beaches, and even more with students who will be health professionals of the future." Regarding the exhibition of Boca del Calvari, the councillor said that "the vision of this great artist of Benidorm is a gift in the form of images that allows us to know more about our natural environment, our heritage. That is something we all must know, and even more young people. "
