The initiative aims to guide 4th year ESO and basic vocational training students on their educational, training and employment future

More than a thousand students participate in the Benidorm Education and Vocational Training Fair

27 February 2026
Más de un millar de estudiantes participan en Feria Educativa y de Formación Profesional de Benidorm

Carrer de Pilota at Palau d’Esports l’Illa de Benidorm hosted the seventh edition of the Benidorm Education and Vocational Training Fair this Friday. This year's local event once again saw high participation from students and collaborating exhibitors. The city's mayor, Toni Pérez, visited the various exhibitors at the Fair this afternoon. In addition to public educational and training centres from the region, the fair also featured private academies and centres, universities, business associations, companies, and law enforcement agencies, all to provide young people with guidance to help them decide on their educational, training, and professional futures.

The mayor had the opportunity to speak with teachers, students, and other participants and to watch some of the demonstrations taking place throughout the day. In addition to Toni Pérez, the institutional visit also included the Councillor for Education, Maite Moreno, along with other members of the Municipal Corporation and the vocational training advisor for the Marina Baixa region, Cristina Prats.

Throughout the morning, more than a thousand students in their fourth year of ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education) and basic vocational training programs from Benidorm and other towns in the Marina Baixa region visited the Carrer de Pilota del Palau to learn in detail about the educational, training, and employment opportunities available to them, both in the region and beyond. Specifically, the participating students were enrolled in the public secondary schools L’Almadraba, Mediterrània, Beatriu Fajardo de Mendoza, Bernat de Sarrià, and Pere Maria Orts i Bosch, and the private-subsidised school Nuestra Señora de los Dolores, all located in Benidorm, as well as students from the IES L’Arabí in l’Alfàs del Pi. and Bellaguarda and Altaia, both in Altea.

In addition to public and private educational centers offering vocational training programs in the region, covering a total of 17 professional fields, as well as public, private, and distance learning universities, such as the University of Alicante and the UNED (National University of Distance Education), the following organizations also participated in this fair: the Official Language School; the Domingo Devesa Tourism Training Center in Benidorm; the Civil Guard, the National Police Corps, and the Local Police; the Provincial Fire Consortium; the Army; the Red Cross; academies; the Local Employment and Promotion Agency; and Benidorm City Council's Youth Department, among others. They set up more than twenty stands showcasing their training, educational, and employment opportunities, aiming to guide young people as they decide on their future paths.

Toni Pérez recalled that “since 2018, the Department of Education has been promoting this Educational Fair to reinforce the important work carried out by the Guidance Departments of schools,” and pointed out that this fair “has become a well-established meeting point where students can learn about all the job and training options available in the region and beyond.”

The mayor also emphasised that “once again, Benidorm is driving initiatives that benefit our young people and help them choose the best paths for their future entry into the job market,” and thanked the participating schools and institutions “for making this fair a reality for the seventh consecutive year.”
