More than 900 primary school students come to the theater thanks to the cycle 'Joves Espectators'
More than 900 Primary students from ten public schools in the city, the subsidized center and a private one have come to the theater today thanks to a new edition of the 'Joves Espectators' cycle, promoted by the Departments of Culture and Education.
Throughout the morning, the students, divided into two turns, attended the play 'La fábula de la ardilla', by La Baldufa company, which received the National Award for Performing Arts for Children and the Youth in 2020. It is a work with live piano music and without text starring two characters, a squirrel and a hedgehog, whose relationship allows us to talk about miscegenation, difference, coexistence, and respect.
The Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, pointed out that "this edition of 'Joves Espectadors' has been held in the Cultural Center auditorium, which has allowed us to reach more Primary school students than in previous years. This activity, which each school year is very well received by schools and with which we want to familiarize children with the performing arts through a play that also has a didactic component”.
For her part, the mayor of Education, Maite Moreno, explained that this cycle "is one of the proposals that throughout the course from the City Council we offer to the educational centers of Benidorm to complement their curricular activities and that, in addition, serve as a meeting point between the students of the different schools of our city”.
Students from CEIP Leonor Canalejas, Ausiàs March, Gabriel Miró and Mestre Gaspar López, from the Nuestra Señora de los Dolores catholic center and from Lope de Vega private school attended the first screening of 'Joves Espectadors'. In the second pass, at 11.45 am, it was the turn of CEIP Els Tolls, La Cala, Aitana, Puig Campana, El Murtal, and Bautista Lledó.
