Mobility enables the vials of Foietes sports area as a parking for residents

Benidorm City Council will enable the vials of Ciudad Deportiva Guillermo Amor, in Foietes, as a free parking for residents, as has announced today by the councilor for Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate. In total, these roads will have about 230 parking spaces and "will be the first area of ​​residents."

De Zárate thanked the councilman of Sports, Arturo Cabrillo, that his department has transferred to Public Road department these roads to "be made available to residents of Colonia Madrid district and, by extension, all of Benidorm"; and it has advanced that "in the next few days" citizens will be informed of the procedure that will be established to dispose of the resident card. A procedure, he pointed out, "that we are going to try to make it as simple as possible" and that will allow the residents of Benidorm to access "a preferential and free parking area". In addition to the roads of the Sports City will be located soon in the streets without ORA located between the avenues of l'Aigüera and Foietes and Limones and Estación streets.

At this time, the municipal technical services are marking and painting the parking areas in these roads of the Sports City, which will have about 120 places for cars and vans, about a hundred for mopeds and motorcycles, four reserved for disabled and another four for Official Service for Police and ambulances.

In addition, when these roads are opened to traffic, safe pedestrian routes will be created throughout the sports venue and there will be an entry and an exit. Specifically, the vehicles will access the sports complex from the roundabout on Capitán Cortes Street, and will leave it by the roads that run along the athletics and petanque tracks.

The councilman of Mobility has indicated that "with these 230 new places we more than compensate the 80 that in a short time will begin to operate as a blue zone on Foietes Avenue, giving a parking alternative to residents in the vicinity".

De Zárate has reported that in addition to the parking spaces, will also be enabled 130 meters of bike lane in these roads and 60 street cycle. In this way "we link the sports area of ​​Foietes with the rest of the bike lane network of Benidorm, by joining it with the one already operating on the avenue Foietes and Libertad, which in turn connects with the Vía Parque, Jaime I and Beniardá and from there with the rest of the city. "

In terms of mobility, the City Council has begun to install information billboards in which the location of the 30 car parks in Benidorm. The first two billboards have been placed in the park-and-ride facility of Italia street and in the parking next to the TRAM station.
