Minute of silence in Benidorm to condemn the three crimes of sexist violence committed last weekend

Members of the municipal corporation of Benidorm, headed by the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez and the councillor of Equality, Angela Llorca accompanied by municipal workers and neighbors, have concentrated this midday at the gates of the City Hall to condemn the last three cases of gender violence that have occurred this past weekend. The corporation has held a recess in the plenary session to join the repulsion of sexist violence observing a minute of silence.

The three women were allegedly murdered by their partners. A first case occurred in the Madrid district of Ciudad Lineal, where a 55-year-old woman was allegedly strangled by her partner, who is hospitalized with knife wounds. Another case occurred in Murcia, where a man killed his 31-year-old partner, also co-worker, handing her numerous stab wounds with a machete in the work center where both worked. The third case occurred in the locality of Collado Villalba, where police officers found her dead, (gagged and with  heads wrapped in a plastic bag), a 38-year-old Romanian woman, allegedly murdered by her Spanish-speaking partner.

With this they are a total of 27 women killed by their partners or ex-partners so far this year, and 11 children who have been orphaned by these violent deaths.
