The mayor participates in the Spanish Tourism Council as vice president of the Tourism Commission of the FEMP
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez has participated today in the Spanish Tourism Council (CONESTUR), a collegiate and advisory body attached to the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism and of which he is a vice president of the Tourism Commission of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP). The Minister of Tourism, Reyes Maroto, has chaired this meeting in which the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, spoke.
At the end of the meeting, and in a small circle, the mayor asked the president of the Government and the minister of the branch to address “the relevance of the destinations” and place them “in the center of tourism policies and initiatives”, since “from the destination all the needs can be channeled, both from the public and private sectors; while the destination itself, from the perspective of public-private collaboration, must be the catalyst for the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ”.
The one of CONESTUR has been the first official act of Toni Pérez as a vice president of the Tourism Commission of the FEMP, section presided over by the mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez, also present at that meeting.
