El alcalde aplaude el esfuerzo de modernización de la planta hotelera que sólo en 2017 realizó 68 proyectos de mejoras

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, has congratulated today the hotel sector of Benidorm for the effort and determination with which they are facing the new challenges posed by an increasingly competitive tourism market, and unveiled as an evidence of that effort the 68 licenses of renovation and modernization works carried out by the Benidorm hotel plant in 2017. "An effort maintained over time," he said, "which has resulted in other new 20 requests for improvement works submitted in the first quarter of the year and which will be many more as soon as the PRIs that we have in progress are developed. "

The mayor expressed his congratulations during the closing ceremony of the General Assembly of the Hostelera Business Association of Benidorm, Costa Blanca and Comunidad Valenciana (HOSBEC), held this morning at the Asia Gardens hotel.

Pérez stressed that this investment effort and constant modernization also demonstrates the confidence in the city that has the hotel industry "and that," he said, "in the end is to contribute to the welfare of citizens, their progress and the generation of employment " The mayor also stressed that 2018 will be a "powerful" exercise in terms of investments that the City of Benidorm plans to spend on improvements and care on public roads, with an investment that will exceed the 7 million euros of 9 million foreseen for investments.

The mayor also referred to the effort that is being made to complete the digital transformation of the city that is being carried out through the Visit Benidorm Foundation, the mixed entity to which this year the municipal budgets allocate more resources than ever and that is developing and modernizing tourism promotion. He recalled in this regard the actions taken to become the first Smart Tourist Destination in the world and stressed that in this year's budget a game of 900,000 for digital investment is planned.
