The winning company assumes the execution of a rainwater collector in Juan Fuster Zaragoza and extends the improvement of the urban scene to Zamora Street
The Local Government Board awards the renovation works of Ametlla del Mar Avenue
The City Council will summon residents and merchants to an informative meeting next Wednesday
The Governing Board of the City of Benidorm today awarded the works for the comprehensive renovation of Ametlla del Mar Avenue, in the section between the Mediterranean and Juan Fuster Zaragoza, assuming the proposal made by the Contracting Committee. This project involves an investment of 1,155,523 euros, of which 450,000 euros are subsidized by the Provincial Council of Alicante through the Provincial Plan of Cooperation to Works and Municipal Competition Services and Improvement of the Provincial Road Network.
The mayor, Toni Pérez, pointed out that "this project will allow to update and update the main commercial artery and mobility of the Rincón de Loix, not only in terms of image but also in relation to services, mainly water to mitigate as much as possible the problems that occur in the area when there is torrential rains and improving the purification system to eliminate the specific problems of bad odors ".
Thus, the awarded works contemplate an integral redevelopment in that section of the avenue, including the change of paving, signage and lighting; the expansion of sidewalks; and the implantation of trees, etc., and special emphasis will be placed on the renewal of water infrastructure and the improvement of the rainwater network. It also includes the creation of a bike lane in the center of the road, similar to that of Avenida Jaime I. L'Ametlla de Mar, is therefore also benefited by the implementation of the so-called cyclist ring.
The company Pavasal will be responsible for executing this project, after having obtained the highest score in the technical section and having assumed the two improvements included in the project: the construction of a rainwater collector on the Juan Fuster Zaragoza avenue, and extending the update from the urban scene from this road to Zamora street. The new rainwater collector will allow all the water that is stored in Ametlla del Mar and its adjacent roads, when there is intensity precipitation, to be derived through a new collector that will be made in Juan Fuster Zaragoza.
The mayor has indicated that "the updating of the water infrastructures on Ametlla del Mar Avenue leads to the future renovation of other streets of the Corner of Loix that connect with this artery".
As was done weeks ago on the occasion of the remodeling of the avenue of the Mediterranean, the City Council plans to call residents and merchants of Ametlla del Mar and adjacent streets to an information meeting next Wednesday, November 28, to transfer all the details of the project and the work schedule, answer your questions and collect suggestions.
