Hundreds of people gather in the Alameda to experience this emotional act, which celebrates the meeting of the Virgin and the Risen Christ
With 'l'Ambaixada de l'Àngel', Benidorm says goodbye to the religious acts of the Holy Week
Today Benidorm says goodbye to the religious acts of Holy Week with the traditional 'Ambaixada de l'Àngel', with which the city commemorates Easter Sunday and celebrates and extols the Encounter of the Virgin with the Risen Christ. Organized by the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Sorrows. This celebration has brought together hundreds of people who wanted to live one of the most emotional and unique acts of Holy Week in Benidorm on La Alameda del Alcalde Pedro Zaragoza street.
The girl Laura López Calvo has played the role of the angel, reciting the traditional verse to announce and celebrate the Resurrection of Christ and the Encounter with the Virgin.
Among those attending the event was the mayor, Toni Pérez; the councillor of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles; as well as members of the Municipal Corporation. All of them, together with 'l'angelet' and devotees, have accompanied the images of the Virgin and the Risen Christ back to the parish of San Jaime and Santa Ana, where a mass was celebrated.
