The Spanish cycling tour will bring the race’s fan zone, Parque Vuelta, to the lower section of Avenida Europa from 4:30 p.m.
There will be more than a dozen stands and free activities for all ages
The tenth stage of La Vuelta will take place this Sunday, 30 August, across the Marina Baixa, starting in La Vila Joiosa and finishing at the summit of Serra d’Aitana. Benidorm is joining the great cycling celebration by hosting Parque Vuelta, the official fan zone, which will be set up along Avenida Europa, between Avenida del Mediterráneo and the beach.
The area, which features 13 marquees run by sponsors and the event organisers, will be open free of charge from 4:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. It will offer cycling fans and residents alike prize draws, official merchandise giveaways, and activities for all ages, with a particular focus on younger family members.
Among the activities planned for the occasion is a commemorative La Vuelta pin, which will be given to visitors who visit all of the stands. In addition, the La Vuelta 26 fan zone will feature screens showing the end of the stage, as well as music to enjoy an action-packed day of sport.
Councillor for Sports Javi Jordá has encouraged “residents and everyone visiting Benidorm to come along to this space dedicated to cycling and leisure, and enjoy a different kind of afternoon, with a wide range of activities while watching live a challenging stage finish at the summit of Aitana.”
Meanwhile, Vicente Férez, head of Parque Vuelta, explained that the fan zone “is a unique opportunity to enjoy the spectacle of cycling in a festive atmosphere.”
