The Icelandic team of First Division, Valur F, visits the mayor after its "stage" of training in Benidorm
The Icelandic handball team, Valur F, leader of the First Division, has visited the Benidorm City Council this morning, accompanied by the president of Benidorm Handball Club, Javier Abinzano, the coach, "Zupo" Equisoain and Yolanda Campus on behalf of the Consulate of Iceland, and have been received by the mayor, Toni Pérez and the Sports Councilor Arturo Cabrillo.
The Icelandic team will close today its preparation stage for the second phase of the competition against Benidorm Handball, starting at 6.30 pm at Palau d'Esports. The Valur F. is in our city after a week of intense training at Palau d'Esports, having already played a match against Benidorm Handball and resolved with a victory of 24-30. Among its staff there are several internationals that currently dispute the World Cup in Germany.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Perez welcomed the staff and thanked the Icelandic club "for ghoosing us for their training, because we are a reference not only in tourism, but also in handball .We work daily to attract tourism, and especially, sports tourism and I hope you have made yourselves at home ".
