The organization values the “continued support” of the Consistory to this sector “as an essential part of the tourism offering” and its promotion through events such as Benidorm Gastronomic

The presentation will take place at a gala to be held next November in Segovia

Hostelería de España—the business organisation representing over 300,000 companies in the hospitality sector nationwide—has awarded the Benidorm City Council one of its National Hospitality Awards, now in its twentieth year. Specifically, the award falls under the "entity or institution" category and recognises the Council's "continued support for the hospitality industry as an essential pillar of the city's tourism offering," according to the organisation.

In explaining the reasons for this recognition, Hostelería de España highlighted that, for the past 15 years, Benidorm City Council—in partnership with the business association ABRECA—has promoted the "Benidorm Gastronómico" brand. This initiative consists of an annual calendar of events and competitions that showcases the diversity, quality, creativity, and professionalism of local establishments, thereby reinforcing gastronomy as a key element of the destination's identity and appeal.

City Mayor Toni Pérez publicly expressed his gratitude for the National Hospitality Award. In his view, the honour "highlights the work we have all built together to position our city's hospitality and dining sectors where they deserve to be—a sector that the City Council will continue to support, given its fundamental importance to our city."

He also extended the award "to those who, day after day, raise the shutters of their bars or open the doors of their cafés and restaurants to serve the public and generate jobs, wealth, and happiness, as well as to everyone working in this sector; this award belongs to them, too."

The National Hospitality Awards ceremony will take place on November 18 at the Juan Bravo Theatre in Segovia. In addition to the Benidorm City Council, this 20th edition will also honour restaurateurs, hospitality businesses, institutions, educational centres, and business organisations distinguished for their innovation, social responsibility, commitment to sustainability, or promotion of culture and/or gastronomy, among other achievements.
