Great reception for the concert of Santa Cecilia by S.M. La Nova in a crowded Cultural Center
The Societat Musical La Nova has had great success in the concert that, on the occasion of Santa Cecilia, it offered in the auditorium of the Cultural Center at 8 p.m. under the direction of Francisco José Rovira Peretó. The venue has been filled for a traditional concert that also serves to welcome the new musicians who join.
It was attended by the mayor Toni Pérez, the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Përez, members of the local corporation, as well as the president and honorary president of the Musical Society, and relatives of the musicians among the audience present.
Before starting, the president of SM La Nova, Juan Vicente Moreno, wanted to “thank the teachers for their work” and “welcome the musicians who are part of the band.” He also mentioned the City Council and official bodies “for their support, without which we would not be able to do many of the activities we carry out.”
The concert has been divided into two parts. In the first, the Music School Band participated in a program composed of: 'Military march number 1' by Franz Schubert; the symphonic poem 'La Storia', by Jacob de Haan and the song 'Sweet Caroline' arranged by Tim Walters. At the end of the event, an emotional welcome ceremony took place for the new musicians.
In the second part of the concert, the Symphonic Band performed the pasodoble 'Socarrats y tramussers' by Jaume F. Ripoll Martins; ‘Steel Overture’ by José Alberto Pina; ‘Waltz number 2’ by Dimitri Shostakovich and ‘Miss Saigon’ by Schönberg and Boublil.
