The government will discuss in the plenary session the proposal to give the AVT a plot of more than 5,000 meters for the new CdT

20 May 2019
El gobierno lleva a pleno la propuesta para ceder a la AVT una parcela de más de 5.000 metros para el nuevo CdT

The local government of Benidorm will raise to the next full session the proposal to give the Valencian Tourism Agency (AVT) a plot of 5,382 square meters next to the Valencian Institute of Tourism Technologies (Invattur) for the regional government to build a new Center for Tourism Development (CdT).

The mayor, Toni Pérez, has indicated that "with this procedure the offer we made in full in February 2018 made available to the AVT the necessary ground to provide Benidorm with a new CdT that better completes the Invattur and that allows us to link training to innovation and technology. "

Pérez explained that at the end of January the AVT "formalized the request for the transfer of the plot, located in Salt de l'Aigua, which has all the favorable technical reports"; and has clarified that this transfer will be made "by mutation and for a period of five years, so if after that time the Generalitat has not built the CdT the plot will return to the City Council."

He also noted that, according to the agreement reached with the regional administration, "once the new building is built, the facilities of the current CdT 'Domingo Devesa', located on Benissa Avenue, will revert to the City Council."

The mayor recalled that "the intention to promote the construction of a new CdT in Benidorm arose in a meeting with the regional secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer, in which we both agree on the need for new facilities capable of responding to the new challenges of tourism training ". In this sense, has deepened that since its implementation in 1995 by the classrooms of the CdT 'Domingo Devesa' have passed "a large number of professionals in the sector to train."
