The girl Ana Ruso Berenguer recites a verse to the Santa Creu on the occasion of the Festa de la Creu

As every May 1, the city of Benidorm awakes with the celebration of Festa de la Creu, a deeply-rooted and intimate festival in the city, which has become one of the most deeply-rooted festivities on the festive calendar.

Last night the Creu already adorned with hundreds of carnations on the Via Emilio Ortuño to which today they have visited in a parade from the church of Sant Jaume and Santa Anna the festivities of Benidorm led by the president of the Festa de la Creu, Paqui Calvo Pérez and the parish priest Juan Antonio González, who were accompanied by the mayor, Toni Pérez; the councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles; the president of the Comissió de Festes Francisco Marín, the senior and child queens Fátima Carrobles and Anna Calbo accompanied by their courts of honor and members of the municipal corporation.

In front of the cross, the parish priest has blessed the municipal area and the girl Ana Ruso Berenguer has recited the traditional verse to the Santa Creu. Afterwards, the participants went to the Church of Sant Jaume and Santa Anna where a Mass took place.

Second dress

The Senior and Children Ladies of the Major Employer Parties 2018 have released their second dress, consisting of a skirt of a tone very similar to the skirt that was used in 1973.

With this initiative, the Commission of Major Festivities 2018, seeks to enhance its Court of Honor in each of the acts, making a small tribute to the skirt he used 45 years ago and a nod to history, preserving the official skirt, of ocher color, which will be kept in the official acts celebrated in the month of March on the occasion of the Arribada de la Mare de Deu, in the month of July for the feast of Sant Jaume, in the month of October on the occasion of the 9th October and in November, in the Major Employer Festivities.

We must remember that Festa de la Creu, has always been the act in which both Courts of Honor of the Major Festivities, traditionally premiered their clothing, coinciding with its first official act and this year, again, the ladies have returned to be premiere, with their second dress.
