A total of four hundred swimmers, the maximum number of participants, crossed the Levante beach in Benidorm today in the seventh edition of the province's most rock-and-roll swim, the Heartbreak Benidorm Swim, organised by the Finisher Sports Club in collaboration with the Benidorm City Council's Sports Department.

To the rhythm of the legendary Beatles, the participants started at 9 a.m. until just before eleven o'clock, when the last swimmer reached the shore, greeted by applause from the organisers and the public.

Sports Councilor Javier Jordá not only supported the Finisher Sports Club in organizing the event but also swam the 2,900 meters of the crossing alongside two other local government councilors, Ana Pellicer and Francis Muñoz, who were later joined by the mayor, Toni Pérez, and other members of the City Council at the medal ceremony.

RESULTS

In the men's category, young Miguel Bou Bernabeu of Vila Swim Fondistas crossed the finish line first, with a time of 00:36:42. He was followed by Antonio García Rodríguez of CA Montemar, with a time of 00:38:03, and César Parra of Naruralswim, with a time of 00:38:25.

As for the women, Leire Santacreu Voigt of CN Benissa finished first, with a time of 00:45:16. Irene Pérez Cerdá of CN Aquatic Alicante finished second, with a time of 00:45:43. While Gema Pérez Beviá of Aquatic finished third, with a time of 00:47:38.
The first local swimmers to cross the finish line were Vicente Solbes Martínez of Gladiators Benidorm, in the men's category, with a time of 00:41:44; and Nerea Martínez Martínez of Unión Triatlón Benidorm, in the women's category, with a time of 00:52:15.

After the trophy presentation, swimmers and organisers enjoyed the traditional post-race party at a famous venue in the city from which the event takes its name.
