FAMPA Marina Baixa celebrates its XXI School Festival in Benidorm

On Saturday afternoon, Julio Iglesias Auditorium in Parque de l'Aigüera hosted the XXI School Festival celebration organized by the Federation of Ampas de la Marina Baixa, which was attended by almost 2,500 people and served to raise funds that will go destined for the Pedagogy Unit of the Children's Oncology Plant of the General Hospital of Alicante and the Pediatric Plant of the Marina Baixa Hospital.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, as well as several councilors of the new municipal corporation, attended the event, which included 16 performances by the different schools and institutes of Benidorm, as well as the Association for the Disabled (ASMIBE) and the Municipal Conservatory of Benidorm.

Toni Pérez addressed the attendees to thank them for their support and collaboration, "because we will always be better if we show solidarity and support each other" while thanking "the work of the festival organization and the involvement of all the centers and of these Great artists who are working here today to help” the development of work in the areas mentioned above of the beneficiary hospitals.

The Head of Pediatrics at Hospital Marina Baixa, Yolanda Herranz Sánchez, thanked FAMPA for its support "to help us professionals provide top-quality care", and added that "in the circumstances in which we work, play and distraction They are essential to overcome fear and anxiety and that children do not see the hospital as a hostile environment”.

Marisa Ibáñez, representative of the Pedagogy Unit of the Alicante Hospital that cares for children with cancer, stressed that “for us, it is important to help children and adolescents to break the isolation caused by cancer; help them recover and do it while enjoying childhood”.

The President of FAMPA Marina Baixa, Viviana Ankonetani, closed the event by thanking the collaboration of all the participants, the Benidorm City Council and all the attendees who, by buying their tickets as a donation, have collaborated in raising funds for both hospitals. She also had words of gratitude for the dozens of sponsors and collaborators who have donated gifts for the raffle carried out by the organization among the attendees.
