An opportunity for students of the conservatory and the course to know and try unique high-end instruments

Exhibitions of trumpets and saxophones in the Municipal Conservatory 'José Pérez Barceló'

02 July 2019
Exposiciones de trompetas y saxofones en el Conservatorio Municipal ‘José Pérez Barceló’

As a complement to the activities of the XXXI International Music Course and the XXI Benidorm Music Contest, the Department of Culture has organized, in collaboration with the Municipal Professional Music Conservatory 'José Pérez Barceló' and the collaborating companies, two exhibitions of musical instruments. Yesterday, Monday, trumpets; Tuesday, saxophones.

On Monday, students of the conservatory, participants in both events and the general public were able to see first-hand the latest models of trumpets made by the Valencian company Stomvi, of recognized international prestige. On Tuesday, a collection of saxophones from the Japanese brand Yanagisawa is on display.

The Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez; the representative of the Japanese brand in Spain, Salva Andreu; and the teacher of the saxophone course Jean-Denís Michat, have visited the exhibition that aims to bring these instruments to the attention of the students. In this sense, the councilor pointed out that "it is the opportunity that the students of the conservatory have to discover high-end instruments. It is very difficult - Jaime Jesús Pérez explained - to be able to find so many instruments and of such quality together if it is not in this type of exhibitions, not even in specialized stores ".

The activities of the Course and Contest continue today, at 10 pm, with a concert by Ángel Sanzo (piano), Adán Delgado (trumpet), and Pepe Gallego (piano). Tomorrow, Wednesday, also at 10.00 pm, will be the final of the Music Contest in the specialty of cello. On Thursday, at the same time, the traditional concert of the students of the course will take place. Finally, on Friday, at 9.30 pm, the teachers of the course will participate: Michal Dmochowski (cello), Graham Jackson (piano), Jean-Denis Michat (saxophone) and Stefamos Spanopoulos (piano). Then the intervention of the winner of the XXI Music Contest and the closing will take place.

All activities are held in the Assembly Hall of the City Council.
