Employment injects € 30,000 ‘extra’ to aid for new self-employed and companies

02 November 2021
Empleo inyecta 30.000 euros ‘extra’ a las ayudas para nuevos autónomos y empresas

To date, 42 grants have been granted, for an amount close to 40,000 euros

The Local Government Board (JGL) has approved today to increase the initial allocation of aid for new self-employed workers and companies by 30,000 euros, "thus reinforcing a line of subsidies focused on favoring and facilitating the start-up of entrepreneurial projects in Benidorm with the that, in addition, self-employment is promoted as a minimum ”. This has been transferred by the Councilor for Employment and Local Development, Mónica Gómez, who has stressed that "if in recent years supporting entrepreneurs has been a priority for this City Council, the pandemic has reinforced that conviction."
"In an economic situation like the current one - she has indicated -, it is more necessary than ever to facilitate and favor the implementation of new activities and businesses in the city, and for this reason this year we decided to double the amount of aid to be received by the beneficiaries, and now also allocate extraordinary resources to this call to continue serving companies and entrepreneurs and companies that start their journey in Benidorm ”.
At this point, she recalled that initially 40,000 euros were reserved for these grants, an amount that now rises to 70,000 euros.
As explained by the mayor, "to date 42 grants have already been granted, for a total amount of 39,400 euros, so we had practically exhausted the initial allocation." With this ‘extra’ contribution “we ensure that we continue to serve and support new entrepreneurs and companies, and thereby increase and strengthen our productive fabric”.
Among the projects that have received this aid are business projects linked to the hospitality, services, health or commercial sector.
Gómez has stressed that these grants "can be requested throughout the year", since they are aimed at "those who have started or start their autonomous activity from January 1 to December 31, 2021".
According to the new rules, "entrepreneurs who establish themselves as self-employed with tax domicile in Benidorm who meet the requirements set out in the rules and are registered in the city will receive 800 euros, compared to 400 euros that were previously granted." Gómez explained that “entrepreneurs who establish themselves as self-employed with tax domicile in Benidorm, are registered in the municipality and process an opening license at the City Council will also benefit from this increase in the amount of aid, since they will obtain 1,200 euros, double than in previous editions ”.
In addition, an aid of 800 euros is contemplated for the self-employed with tax domicile in Benidorm, who are not registered in the city, but who process the license to open their business in the municipality.
