The Governing Board approves the bases of the call, which will have an initial game of 80,000 euros for 2023

Employment doubles funds to promote entrepreneurial projects in Benidorm

28 August 2023
Empleo duplica los fondos para impulsar proyectos emprendedores en Benidorm

The Department of Employment and Local Promotion has launched a new call for aid aimed at promoting the creation of new companies and entrepreneurial projects in Benidorm. For this, the Local Government Board (JGL) has approved this Monday the bases that will govern the granting of these aids, for which it is planned to allocate a budget of 80,000 euros, double the funds initially provided for in last year's call.

One of the main objectives of these aids, as indicated by the councilor Mónica Gómez, is "economic promotion and job creation in the city, that is why the Department has developed various lines of action to help achieve that objective".

The aid that will be granted ranges between 800 and 1,200 euros. The first will go to entrepreneurs who establish themselves as self-employed workers with tax domicile in Benidorm and are registered in the city. Entrepreneurs who are not registered in Benidorm but establish themselves as self-employed, with tax domicile in the city, and apply for an opening license at Benidorm City Council will also be able to access these 800-euro grants.

About the aid of 1,200 euros, will go to professionals who register as self-employed workers with tax domicile in Benidorm, who are registered in the city, and who process an opening license in Benidorm City Council, as stated in the bases.

To be eligible for this line of aid, those interested must register or have registered as self-employed, with tax domicile in Benidorm, between October 1, 2022, and September 30, 2023, and have started their economic activity between those dates. Likewise, they must be registered in the census of taxpayers and the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers before applying, but they must not have been registered in the three months before the start of the activity.

Nor can they have been beneficiaries of these aids in any of the two previous years and must be registered in Benidorm or request an opening license in a local located in the city.

Applications may be submitted from the day following the publication of the bases in the BOP until December 31 of this year and the submission must be made through the Electronic Office (https://sede.benidorm.org) together with the documentation.

A technical commission will be in charge of evaluating the applications and proposing the approval or denial of the aid, as well as the allocation of the subsidized amounts.

Mónica Gómez highlighted the "sensitivity of this government with the local productive fabric and entrepreneurship".

In this sense, Gómez recalled that in the previous call, these grants benefited a total of 75 entrepreneurial projects that were launched in the city during the year 2022, for which a total of 74,000 euros were allocated.

The councillor explained that, initially, the Consistory reserved a credit of 40,000 euros for these aids, an amount that later had to be increased to serve all the self-employed and companies that met the requirements to participate in that call. "For this reason, in this edition, we have doubled the initial game to 80,000 euros," added the mayor. Likewise, the person in charge of the Employment department indicated that, as happened a year ago, in this edition the global budget will also "be modulated according to the needs to try to meet the greatest number of requests possible".

Finally, the councillor specified that in addition to these direct aids, the Employment, and Local Promotion Agency "also supports the start-up of new business projects with other actions through constant advice to those who decide to take this step or by offering a space for 'coworking' in which they can start their activity”.
