The councilwoman of Culture regrets that 25 years later occur almost daily cases of gender violence, sexual abuse or rape in a group

El Torrejó hosts the presentation of a book that tells the escape of Anglès

01 July 2018
El Torrejó acoge la presentación de un libro que relata la fuga de Anglès

On Saturday, the book 'Antonio Anglès, la fuga d'un assasí' was presented at the Torrejó municipal building, attended by the mayor of Culture Ana Pellicer, the journalist Genar Martí and the editor Manolo Gil.

The book published by Vincle Editorial and written by journalists Genar Martí and Jorge Saucedo tells the story of the escape of Antonio Anglés 25 years after his disappearance, providing documentation and testimonies unpublished until now. In it, journalists make a journey from Catarroja to Dublin with new data and testimonies that speak for the first time. Scenarios that have been trodden by the two journalists to know first hand where the fugitive went and with whom he interacted. In addition, the story brings to light the marginal life of the first years of Anglés in Catarroja (Valencia), only arrived from Sao Paulo. He also shows us unpublished passages of his biography, from bank robber to the man capable of attacking his family for years and chaining one of their partners.

The investigation of Martí and Saucedo reaches the present time with interviews to the greatest police experts of our country going through all the places in the world where the agents have followed the track of Anglés.

'Antonio Anglès, la fuga d'un assasí' is a journalistic research work that helps put together an unfinished puzzle 25 years later. Martí and Saucedo try to set the final story to know who Antonio Anglés is and how he escaped the forces of order on the night of January 27, 1993 and how his trail was lost on March 24 of the same year. A work far from conspiracy theories, based on data and documents hitherto unpublished.

The mayor of Culture Ana Pellicer said that "unfortunately it is a topical issue, that 25 years later, almost every day there are cases of gender violence, sexual abuse or gang rapes." Pellicer praised the work of journalists as they collaborate and help clarify cases.

At the end of the presentation the journalist Genar Martí answered questions from the audience and signed copies.
