From September 5 to 9 nine parties are planned, part of them free

The eighth edition of Benidorm Pride expects to beat records of attendees and increase the national audience

The 'Parade' will fill once again the first line of Levante with color

Benidorm will be next week the epicenter of the LGBTI collective, with the eighth edition of the Pride, which last year brought together more than 20,000 people and this time is expected to break public records, as they have advanced the Councilor for Events and Festivals , José Ramón González de Zárate and one of its promoters, Geoff Garland. Both have stressed that this eighth edition of Benidorm Pride wants to "expand the presence of national public", for which the organization has opted for collaboration with "important brands in the LGBTI nightlife" that "lead many followers in their networks social".

Although the bulk of the activities will be concentrated from September 5 to 9 -with up to nine different events-, on days 3 and 4 there will be themed parties in the old town, which will be themed and decorated one more year to celebrate the Pride. In addition, on Tuesday 4 will be held the presentation of the Pride at 20.00 at Melina Hotel.

As in previous editions, the Pride will have its own parade: the Parade, in which floats, cars and even horses will participate, and that will cross a stretch of Levante Beach from El Rincón de Loix, through the Europa avenues, Mediterráneo and Aigüera arrive to Julio Iglesias auditorium.

The Councilor for Events stressed that Benidorm Pride is "a reflection of the open city we are" as well as a very important claim to attract LGBTI tourism; and he added that with the passage of the editions it has been confirmed "that the degree of fidelity is high, since many of those who discover our city return". He also stressed that the high number of events and activities that take place during the Pride, makes the attendees "spend the full day in Benidorm, staying in our tourist accommodation and consuming in our establishments." It has also invited residents, tourists and residents of localities in the region to participate in the different activities of the Pride.

Garland, meanwhile, said that this edition of Benidorm Pride "will be a before and after," with a program that mantains the best of previous years and also adds new activities to nine parties, part of them free . The organizer assured that the Pride is a 'family friendly' event, and also "the most important week of the year in economic terms" for the atmosphere in the old town.
