Some works has been made inside the building, although the bulk is centered on the exterior of the facilities
Education performs repair work at the Municipal Conservatories of Music and Dance
The works will continue outside school hours so as not to interfere in the development of the classes
The Department of Education is performing repair work inside and outside the Municipal Conservatories of Music and Dance, once the reports and diagnostic analysis commissioned to the University of Alicante (UA) and an external laboratory have certified that the damages detected "affected the outer layers of the facilities", are rectifiable and not serious.
The mayor, Toni Pérez, has indicated that "with the aim of guaranteeing the security and absolute tranquility of the educational community" of both conservatories, these repair works have been contracted for an amount close to 40,000 euros. While there has been "some intervention inside the centers," the bulk of the work focuses on the outer perimeter, where it will act in about a dozen pillars of the bullring.
Specifically, it is proceeding to the cleaning of the concrete and the cleaning of the reinforcements, to the regeneration of structural elements, to the replacement of enclosures and coatings, and to the punctual sealing of bleachers.
The mayor, who also manages the area of Education, has reported that "it has been coordinated with the company awarded the works and with the addresses of both centers" that, as far as possible, repair work is carried out by the morning to "avoid discomfort and noise during school hours" and "not to interfere with the normal development of the classes".
Pérez has pointed out that "the works are very advanced, even on the exterior face" of the building, and will have been completed in an approximate period of four weeks.
He also recalled that "soon we expect the restart of the works of the cultural center, as promised by the Generalitat Valenciana". If this commitment is fulfilled, "after less than 20 months, the conservatories will be in this new location".
In any case, the investment made now in the conservatories "acquires continuity value" since "the bullring and the entire environment is within the scope of the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI)", for which the City has received a grant of 10 million euros from European funds.
