The program is aimed at Primary students who need reinforcement to face the next school year in better conditions
Education opens registration for the Summer Educational Support Program, which will take place from July 13 to August 28
The Department of Education has opened today and until July 7 registration for the Summer Educational Support Program (PAEV), which will take place from July 13 to August 28 at CEIP Ausiàs March. The councillor of the area, Maite Moreno, recalled that the objective of this program is "to help primary school students who need a school reinforcement to start the next year in better conditions, especially after the development of the last term without attending classes ”.
Moreno has indicated that "as we already advanced last week, this edition of PAEV presents some changes with respect to previous years to adjust to the new reality generated by the Covid-19, which in practice translates, for example, into the reduction of the number of students per group to guarantee that the safety distance is respected ”.
Thus, the 1st and 2nd Primary groups will have eight places each; while from 3rd to 6th the ratio is expanded to 10 students. According to the councilor, "initially we offered a total of 56 places, although depending on demand we could double the number of groups from 3rd to 6th year and another 40 more students will be added."
Classes will take place from Monday to Friday at two times: from 09.00 to 11.00 for students in 2nd, 3rd and 5th grade of Primary, and from 11.30 to 13.30 for groups of 1st, 4th and 6th. In those two hours of class per day, students of each course will reinforce school subjects –such as Mathematics, Spanish, Valencian and English-, and will work study techniques, attention games and verbal and mathematical reasoning.
Registration can be done in person until July 7 at the Department of Education, located on the 3rd floor of the Town Hall, in Plaza SSMM Reyes de España. The application form will be accompanied by the responsible declaration in which the family accepts the norms corresponding to the ‘Sanitary protocol for the development of activities aimed at children and youth population in the municipalities of the Valencian Community’, issued by the Generalitat.
The list of those admitted will be published on the 10th July and the registration is free.
