The Department of Employment doubles the amount of grants for new self-employed peolple and companies
The Local Government Board (JGL) will approve on Monday the call for grants for new self-employed peolpe and companies in Benidorm, which is launched annually by the Department of Employment and Local Development (AEDL) and this year "doubles the amount of aid they will receive the projects and entrepreneurs who are beneficiaries of this benefit ”, according to what the councilor of the area, Mónica Gómez, advanced today.
Gómez has pointed out that "in an economic situation like the current one, it is more necessary than ever to facilitate and favor the implementation of new activities and businesses in Benidorm capable of generating employment or self-employment, and for this we have considered appropriate to give a new impetus to this line of grants, aimed at supporting entrepreneurs who want to develop their project in our city ”.
According to the new rules, "entrepreneurs who establish themselves as self-employed with tax domicile in Benidorm who meet the requirements set out in the rules and are registered in the city will receive 800 euros, compared to 400 euros that were previously granted." Gómez explained that “entrepreneurs who establish themselves as self-employed with tax domicile in Benidorm, are registered in the municipality and process a bussiness license at the City Council will also benefit from this increase in the amount of grants, since they will obtain 1,200 euros, double than in previous editions ”.
In addition, a grant of 800 euros is contemplated for self-employed people with tax domicile in Benidorm, who are not registered in the city, but who process the license to open their business in the municipality.
Through these three types of grants "we support professionals and freelancers who are committed to starting and establishing their activity in Benidorm and who, consequently, contribute to increasing and strengthening our productive fabric".
The Councilor for Employment and Local Development has explained that "the bases that will govern this call have been agreed with the opposition groups" and has clarified that these grants "may be requested throughout the year", since they are aimed at “those who have started or start their activity from January 1 to December 31, 2021”.
Initially, an item of 40,000 euros has been reserved for these grants. The conditions and requirements to access them will be announced in the coming days, once the bases are approved and published in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP).
