The Department of Culture brings theater to schools in Benidorm
The Department of Culture, in collaboration with the Education department, will bring theater closer to schools in Benidorm through the cycle 'Joves Espectadors', an initiative that is included within the municipal project of educational support and extracurricular activities' Activem els col·les'. The councillor of Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, has pointed out that with this cycle “we want to take our programming to a greater number of viewers and at the same time collaborate and actively participate in the educational and cultural training of the children of Benidorm, in this case through the performing arts ”.
Pérez explained that "this free activity has been offered to all public schools of Infant and Primary Education in Benidorm, as well as the catholic center and the two private ones, since we want to bring the theater to the largest possible number of children, in this case preferentially to students of the 1st cycle of Primary ”.
The councilor has announced that ‘Joves Espectadors’ will take place “during the second half of March; a time when the weather allows more outdoor activities, since the representations will be staged in open spaces, such as playgrounds, also complying with all health safety protocols and thus preventing minors from leave the school ”.
The performances are scheduled to take place between March 18 and 31, with two daily passes, in principle one per center. However, based on demand, it is not ruled out that in some school the number of performances may be expanded.
According to Pérez, “within this cycle, students will be able to see the play‘ Diversa ’, by Pàmpol Teatre company; a 45-minute play in which four adapted stories are compiled, which are told in Roberto Aliaga's ‘Superhéroes’; 'Voy a comerte', by Jean-Marc Deroun; ‘Mariluna’, written by Ana Tortosa; and 'El Rey de nada', signed by Guridi ”.
The head of Culture has ensured that it is "a proposal aimed at activating emotions through a tender plays, with a calm rhythm, with flashes of humor accompanied by music".
