The concerts of the XXX International Music Course open with a trombone recital by Víctor Teuler
The XXX International Music Course, and with it free concerts by students and teachers, began yesterday with a trombone recital by the local musician Víctor Teuler, winner of last year's edition of Benidorm Music Contest. On the stage of the Hall of the City Hall, Teuler was accompanied on the piano by Pedro Mercado. Among those attending the concert were the councilors of Citizen Security and Employment, Lorenzo Martínez and Mª Jesús Pinto.
After the inaugural concert, today the classes of this International Course have started, which for five days will turn Benidorm into a benchmark in the world of music and a meeting point for the best teachers and students of five musical specialties .
Organized by the Department of Culture, directed by Ana Pellicer, this course has a staff of first level teachers formed by: pianist Angel Sanzo, professor of the Conservatory of Music of Badajoz; saxophonist Nikita Zimin, president of the Eurasian Saxophone Association, Selmer artist and professor at the College of musical performance by F.Chopin; Michal Dmochowsky, assistant professor at the Reina Sofia School of Music and professor of cello at the Jacinto Guerrero Conservatory in Toledo; the trumpeter Germán Asensi, soloist professor of the Symphonic Orchestra of RTVE and professor at the CSKG; and Ricardo Llorca, a teacher at 'The Juilliard School', 'Queen Sofia Spanish Institute' in New York and composer in residence of the 'New York Opera Society'.
Apart from the teaching activity, the International Course schedules free concerts every night and open to the general public. Until Thursday, these performances will be at 22.00 in the Hall of the City Hall; while on Friday the performance will be at 21.30.
