Concert by the UDP Llíria-Camp de Túria-Serranos Band at the FMP Cultural Week

The UDP Llíria-Camp de Túria-Serranos Band gave a concert on Wednesday afternoon as part of the Cultural Week of the Patron Saint Festivities, organised by the Departments of Culture and Fiestas, at Benidorm Cultural Centre auditorium.

More than 200 people gathered in the Benidorm hall to enjoy the concert, conducted by the band's director, Antonio Alapont. Among them were the councillors for Culture and Fiestas, Jaime Jesús Pérez and Mariló Cebreros, along with other members of the municipal corporation and the regional deputy, José Ramón González de Zárate. Also present were the Queen and Children's Queen of the Patron Saint Festivities, Paula Pascual and Aitana Pérez, and, representing the Commission, Lynn Corden.

The concert began with a performance of "Música y vino" by Manuel Morales and continued in its first part with "La alegría de la huerta" by Federico Chueca. 'Trumpet Tango' by Eddie Calvert and Eduardo Nogueroles, and 'A Rafael Tortajada' by Juan G. Gómez Deval.

After the customary intermission, the concert continued with the second half featuring 'Aires Llevantins' by Bernabé Sanchis; 'La Cumparsita' by Gerardo Matos; 'Portraits of Spain' by Teo Aparicio-Barberán; and 'Luna de España' by Fernando Moraleda.

The UDP Llíria-Camp de Túria-Serranos Band is made up of fifty retired musicians. Founded in 1993, it is the first band of its kind in the Valencian Community. It is a member of the European Confederation of Retired and Senior Musicians.
