With the presentation of both books begins the 'Cultural Festival Week' organized by the Commission
The Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals 2017 and the Association of Penyes Verge del Sofratge presented last night, in the auditorium of Benidorm City Council, their commemorative books for the 2017 celebrations. The event was chaired by the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; the president of the Fiestas Committee, Antonio Vicente Fuster; the president of the Peñas Association, Mariano Nájera; the queens, Anna Galiana and Àngela Antón; and the councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles. In an auditorium full of festive atmosphere, the presence of Senator Agustín Almodóbar; the Abanderado 2017, Miguel Riquelme; the Town Crier 2017, Juan Ángel Ferrer; and the President of Honor to Perpetuity of the Fiestas, Francisco Llorens (Paco Rosera).
The local painter José Albero has been the author of the cover and the poster of the 'llibret' of clubs, while Michel Acosta has been the author of the poster and the cover of the book of the Committee of Fiestas, which this year has as a message ' Orgull, arrels i tradició '.
The president of the Commission, Antonio Vicente Fuster, highlighted the "effort we have made" throughout the year since the commission, because "we have all put the greatest feeling," he added. He also stressed the "good tune" with the supporters to "work together" in many of the acts.
For his part, the president of the clubs, Mariano Nájera, said that "it has been a pride to share a year with fantastic people" and added that "for me it will be an experience I can never forget" for the fraternity with which they have developed all the activities of this year.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, congratulated both entities for the "effort" made to achieve "a party to live on the street, with the participation of young people and with fidelity to our traditions." He also highlighted the program of events and the development of some books "that are a compilation every year of our love for the holidays and the cultural essence of Benidorm".
The presentation of the books opens the 'Cultural Festival Week' organized by the Commission, which this weekend includes the celebration of four concerts. The first of them was the performance of the 'Quintet' of the Musical Union, which was held yesterday Friday at 20:00 in the hall of City Hall. Today Saturday at 7:30 p.m. the 'Societat Musical La Nova' will offer in the same hall its extraordinary concert on the occasion of the parties, while tomorrow at 12:00 will be the turn of the extraordinary concert of festivities of the 'Societat Musical L'Illa', also in the auditorium. On Sunday at 8:30 pm, the Rondalla of the ACR "La Barqueta" will perform at the Church of San Jaime and Santa Ana.

The mayor attended the mayoral meeting that was held last night at the Casa del Fester, presided over by the president of the Fiestas Committee, Antonio Vicente Fuster. The mayor said that "you are a great commission and I am anxious for the parties to arrive and enjoy everything you have prepared." Toni Perez wanted to thank the mayorales "the work done throughout the year, which has been fantastic" and called on them to "leave behind the concerns of the whole year" because, according to his words: "I guarantee that if there is something left in your feelings for life is to have enjoyed the holidays that you have organized for your neighbors, for your people.
