The City Council will collaborate with Benidorm Beach Volleyball Club in its objective of hosting the promotion phase to the Super League

The Mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the Councillor for Sports, Javier Jordá, received this morning at the Town Hall members of the board of directors of the Voleibol Playas de Benidorm Club to discuss the current situation of the entity, as well as the sporting challenges that its teams face in the final stretch of the season. At the meeting, the Mayor expressed the collaboration of the Town Hall to achieve the club's objective of hosting the promotion phase to the Super League.
During the meeting, the board of directors, headed by its president Mario Rodríguez, together with the sports director Ramón González and the member Jesús García, shared with the municipal representatives the evolution of the club and the advances in its sporting structure. One of the main points of the meeting has been the preparation of the men's team for the promotion phase to Super League 1, a historic challenge for the entity that has established itself as a benchmark for volleyball in the Valencian Community and that can be certified this weekend in Almería against Michelin Mintonette with four days left until the end of the championship.
The men's team, led by Adriano Lamb, is the clear leader of the standings with 48 points, is in a privileged position in Superliga 2 and aspires to achieve promotion to the highest category of national volleyball, which would be an unprecedented milestone in the club history. Likewise, the evolution of the women's team, which also competes in Superliga 2 and continues to show a high competitive level in a highly demanding league, has been valued.
The mayor, Toni Pérez, has reiterated the commitment of the City Council to local sport and has valued the efforts of the club to promote the practice of volleyball in the city. Likewise, the mayor has conveyed to them the full collaboration of the City Council to host the promotion phase, requested by the club, if the Spanish Federation designates the city as the organizing headquarters. An announcement will be made shortly. The Councillor for Sports, Javier Jordá highlighted the importance of supporting sports entities that, like Playas de Benidorm, contribute to the growth of grassroots and elite sports in the city.
The meeting also served to strengthen the collaboration between the City Council and the club, as well as to thank the institutional support that allows the practice of volleyball to continue to be promoted in all its categories. As a token of this gratitude, the board has presented the mayor and the councillor with personalised team shirts.
Playas de Benidorm Volleyball Club with more than 350 federated players in different categories, continues to consolidate itself as a reference in the local sports scene, with a firm commitment to growth and competitive excellence in volleyball.
