The demolition assumed by the merchant who ran the business remain standing the toilets and the warehouse to serve the cemetery as agreed by the Urban Scene Advisory Council
The Local Government Board next week will authorize the partial demolition of the old fast food establishment - Burger King - located in a municipal plot on Nicaragua Avenue, and which closed its doors several months after the City Council culminated the procedure of recovery of this plot for a public square.
The Councilor for Urban Planning, Lourdes Caselles, explained that the merchant who ran the business will assume this demolition. A demolition that, according to the Urban Scene Advisory Council of February 13, will be partial, as "the toilets and warehouse of the old establishment will remain standing to serve the Virgen del Sufragio cemetery, located in the adjacent plot" .
Caselles recalled that the company has adapted its initial project of total demolition to that agreement and to the considerations made by the municipal technicians, who have reported favorably on the document presented on 16 May.
The project contemplates "demolishing the hall of the old establishment, "keep toilets and warehouse, which are in very good condition", and give the rest of the plot a treatment that prevents the growth of weeds, preparing it for later conditioning.
The head of Urbanism has clarified that "the building surface that remains standing - the toilets and the warehouse - does not exceed 5% of the total area of free Spaces for Landscaped Areas, as already reported by the municipal architect in the Advisory Council and as she reiterated in writing, "so with this action" we are complying with the Law and our General Plan. "
The project has a "deadline of one month" and a cost of "more than 57,000 euros".
