City Council and Hosbec once again offer accommodation to health personnel
Benidorm offers the Regional Goverment resources for the general vaccination of the population
As of today and as they did during the first wave of the pandemic, Benidorm City Council and Hosbec hotel association make tourist apartments available to the health personnel who provide services in La Vila Joiosa regional hospital, Benidorm Clinic Hospital, IMED Levante and the city's health centers. This has announced today by the mayor, Toni Pérez, who has indicated that “we are resuming this service in view of the increase in the incidence of Covid in the Valencian territory and with the aim of offering a safe, comfortable and risk-free accommodation to health personnel who are on the front line fighting the virus and their families ”.
Toni Pérez recalled that "during the first wave, 34 health professionals made use of this free service that worked for 45 days". "Most of them - he added - were professionals from La Vila Joiosa Regional Hospital who in their family environment had elderly or vulnerable people, and almost half of them were nurses or nursing assistants."
The mayor has detailed that “as in the first wave, it will be the City Council, through the #RAC -Network of Collective Aid- coordinated from the Department of the Presidency, who will be in charge of processing and managing this accommodation for health personnel interested". Toni Pérez has stated that with this initiative "from Benidorm we want to help and take care of those who take care of us and facilitate as much as possible the exercise of their task, being aware that they have been suffering for many months this struggle and that at the moment they are facing again to a complicated situation due to the increase in cases in the Marina Baixa ”. A situation that has led the regional authorities to apply new and more restrictions to try to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Likewise, the mayor thanked Hosbec and the companies of the entity that offer their establishments "for their commitment to the city and the region by once again making their resources available."
Toni Pérez has affirmed that "this is an action that we undertook from minute 1 of the pandemic, which resulted in the hardest moments of the first wave and that now, probably much anticipating the need, we put on the table" . An offer, he stressed, that it be made "from the utmost loyalty to those who are standing up front for all of us who live here, and also to the competent administrations responsible for those services."
Benidorm offers the Ministry infrastructure and resources for vaccination
In this regard, the mayor has reported that the City Council offers "to the Generalitat Valenciana and the health authority all the logistical, infrastructure and city resources available" for "vaccination". A vaccination that "we hope will soon reach to the entire population and in retirement homes."
"It is in our will and ethics as a City Council to help in everything we can," he reaffirmed.
