Political groups, tourism sector and National and Local Police hold a working meeting
All the political groups of the corporation, representatives of the city's tourism and business sector, and the National and Local Police have met today to propose measures to correct unacceptable behaviors or attitudes that may occur in public roads. The meeting, convened by the Councilor for Citizen Security, Lorenzo Martínez, has served as the first contact between the parties and to mark some lines of work.
Martínez said that at this first meeting "it has become clear that there are very concrete behaviors that need to be corrected" because they can damage the image of the city and hamper the rest of the neighbors. It is, he stressed, "the bad behavior of a few", which "in no case should be blamed on a tourist market as a whole". "In fact, most domestic and foreign tourists behave in an exemplary manner during their stay in Benidorm," he added.
The councilman has indicated that "the objective is to find legal and administrative formulas so that the sanction files that are initiated against the incívicos become effective and are charged", something that at present is not always possible. Martínez said that all parties agree that "the collection of fines can be the most effective revulsive against these behaviors."
