The work, which will be carried out in low season, has a budget of 94,710 euros and is only pending authorization from Provincial Coastal Service
Benidorm will renew the sewerage network in Madrid Avenue to end pipeline cloggings
The Benidorm City Council will undertake the renewal of the sewerage network of Avenida Madrid to definitively end the problems of clogging. The intervention will affect the section between the Principado Tower and Ametlla de Mar Avenue and will have a budget of 94,710.56 euros.
The intervention has become necessary due to the aforementioned clogging problems that are caused by the slope which makes it necessary to modify the collector, increasing its depth to be able to connect this connection by gravity and, consequently, improving the slope.
In addition, it will be used to connect the connection to the 'Aula del Mar' sanitation network, whose work is already in its final phase.
For the execution of these works, the installation of a 315 mm diameter PVC collector with a slope of 1% is planned. The action will also entail the execution of manholes using precast concrete elements and manholes 800 millimeters in diameter of ductile iron.
The project indicates that the connection of waste connections will be made through a PVC pipe of 200 millimeters in diameter.
The expected execution period is one month. The Councilor for Water Cycle, José Ramón González de Zárate, has indicated in this regard that the work "will be carried out in low season, when there are fewer people in Benidorm and the inconvenience is as little as possible" and has indicated that "we are only pending authorization from the Provincial Coastal Service in case any changes to the project have to be made”.
Regarding the work, the councillor has specified that "for a long time we wanted to end the recurring problems of obstructions that occurred at this point and we have decided to do so once we verified that the connection with Ametlla de Mar sewerage network allowed the modification since there is enough depth to give driving a steeper slope”.
Once the work is finished, the replacement of the hexagonal cobblestone pavement has been projected, just like the one that existed before the work. The guarantee period has been set at one year, which will be the time in which the contractor will be in charge of the conservation of the executed works.
