The winning company will reinforce this service with about twenty people during the school year

Benidorm will reinforce cleaning and disinfection in municipal schools and educational centers to comply with the Ministry's guidelines

02 September 2020
Benidorm reforzará la limpieza y desinfección en los colegios y centros educativos municipales para cumplir las directrices de Conselleria

The Consistory is waiting to know how the Ministry will activate these protocols in Secondary Schools, which depend on the Regional Goverment

The Department of Education and Cleaning of Benidorm City Council, led by Maite Moreno and José Ramón González de Zárate, will implement a reinforcement of the cleaning service in all educational centers that depend on the council, with the aim of complying with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health to guarantee the safety of students throughout the school year.

After receiving the report from the municipal technicians last week, once all the guidelines set by the regional administration had been received, it was forwarded to the company awarded the service (OHL), having reached an agreement to reinforce such cleaning services during the school year. The mayor of Education, Maite Moreno, explained that “a score of professionals will carry out these tasks in educational centers, but not only in primary schools, which would be the municipal task, but also in municipal nursery schools, the UNED, the official language school, music and dance conservatories, and the school for adults ”.

Maite Moreno wanted to underline that "Benidorm City Council complies with and guarantees the protocols of the Ministry of Health in terms of cleaning and disinfection" and has recorded that "the Ministry notified us of its protocol on August 24, on August 26 it returned. to send another letter with modifications, and we have made its instructions coincide with our performance designs ”.

For his part, the coincillor of Cleaning, José Ramón González de Zárate, has stated that in Benidorm “we have kept the operators of the concessionaire cleaning service of public facilities working throughout this crisis, including the period of the lock down "Specifying that" we have done it by redistributing the work according to the most important needs in our facilities and always maintaining staff in all the educational centers of Benidorm, where cleaning and disinfection have been done thoroughly. "

De Zárate has stated that "a good agreement has been reached with the concession company, covering all school hours to guarantee compliance with all the guidelines" in the case of the centers that depend on the consistory; but he has put on record the existing concern because "because we do not know how the protocols will be fulfilled in the Secondary Schools, which depend directly on the Ministry, because in the City Council we still have no news about it." The councillor recalled that "more than 2,500 students are going to join our institutes and we want to know how these protocols will be met because they must go to classrooms with full guarantees."
