The project, with a budget of 14,645 euros, will be carried out by Veolia using Investment Funds

Benidorm will increase water pressure in the irrigation network of Beniardá park-and-ride facility and Séquia Mare park

Benidorm dotará de más presión en la red de riego del aparcamiento disuasorio de Beniardá y en el parque de la Séquia Mare

The Local Governing Board of Benidorm City Council has approved a series of actions to install a water supply for irrigation at the Beniardá Avenue park-and-ride facility and the necessary infrastructure to guarantee sufficient water pressure both in the parking area and in the Séquia Mare park.

The budget for these actions amounts to €14,645.80 and will be carried out by Veolia, the concessionaire of the Municipal Drinking Water and Sewerage Service, using the Investment Funds committed by the company.

According to the proposal submitted by the Councillor for the Water Cycle, José Ramón González de Zárate, the installation of the reclaimed water supply for irrigation at the Beniardá Avenue park-and-ride facility is currently stalled due to ongoing administrative procedures, "which makes it necessary to temporarily establish an alternative drinking water supply to guarantee the completion of the planned landscaping work in the area." Similarly, the councillor pointed out that insufficient pressure has been detected in the drinking water distribution network both in the Beniardá parking area and in the Séquia Mare park, "which justifies the need to install pressure booster pumps to ensure adequate service conditions."

Therefore, the planned work in the parking area will consist of installing a drinking water connection for irrigation, as well as a pressure booster pump, a tank, and a pump house to guarantee the hydraulic conditions of the irrigation system. Regarding the planned work in the Séquia Mare park, a pressure booster pump will be installed to supply the new restrooms and kitchens on the site.

"These are two minor but necessary projects in two very important areas for the city," said González de Zárate, who indicated that the new landscaped areas in the Beniardá Avenue parking area require a water supply, which will be reclaimed, and for this, the new connection is necessary." In the case of the Séquia Mare park, he specified that "the completion and upcoming commissioning of the toilets and kitchens also made it necessary to guarantee the water supply in a place that is and will be heavily used by young people."
