Benidorm will host the National Fashion Design Award for Bath Fashion New Talents in Spain
The first edition has been presented today at the Superior Center for Fashion Design in Madrid and will be held next summer
The Center for Fashion Design in Madrid has hosted this morning the presentation of the first edition of the National Award for Design of Bath Fashion New Talents, to be held in Benidorm next June. The presentation was carried out by the first deputy mayor of Benidorm, Ana Pellicer, along with the president of Fashion Spain, Angel Asensio; the director of the Superior Center of Fashion Design in Madrid (CSDMM), Manuel Blanco; the Vice-rector of Institutional Communication and External Promotion of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Francisco Javier Jiménez; and the award-winning artist from Villarreal, Dolores Cortés.
This award aims to value the quality of academic training in our country, give visibility to the creativity of future professionals and become a benchmark and recognition in bath fashion in Spain. In her speech, Ana Pellicer recalled that the initiative "fit and fulfilled" with the promotion strategy of Benidorm, that is why from the councils of Tourism, Events and Local Development have worked together in its development.
Pellicer thanked the support of the groups of Fashion Spain addressing his president to remind him "his involvement and the entire organization that leads." Ana Pellicer has also had words of gratitude for the prestigious designer Dolores Cortés, international reference of fashion and "maximum exponent of the values and objectives that inspire" the project; and, of course, the CSDMM, "for the reception and for betting on this National Bath Fashion Award" and for Benidorm.
In her speech, Ana Pellicer recalled that Benidorm was between the 50s and 60s of the last century "the first exponent of openness and modernity in a Spain that wanted to look to the future" and recalled the figure of Pedro Zaragoza as the promoter of tourism and the first bikinis on Spanish beaches. At present, Benidorm is "is today an open and cosmopolitan city", stressed the councillor. A city that does not rest any of the 365 days of the year to welcome millions of visitors "who has become" the paradigm of Spanish tourist destinations. " Therefore, on the occasion of this award, Pellicer has announced the celebration in October of a gala "tribute" to the bikini, on the occasion of its 65th anniversary on the beaches of the city.
The award
The National Bath Fashion Design Award is aimed at creators resident in our country under 35. In a first phase the proposals that will be presented and selected, and then, producing the collection. The designs will be paraded on the Mediterranean Fashion Beach (MFB) and in Benidorm Castle on a specific date of 2018. The contestants, in addition to the national prize, will opt for two accésits and the Benidorm Award for the best Bikini.
For the realization of this award, the City of Benidorm has signed an agreement with the promotional company Synthesis Creativity and Communication organizer of the catwalk..
