The City Council recovers an area that has been up to now diaphanous and increases the cultural offer for tourists and residents
Benidorm will have a new exhibition and information space outdoors
Benidorm will soon have a new public information and exhibition space in Glorieta del Carrasco, in the center of the city. There are installing six panels of 120 x 176 cm double-sided, with backlight functionality, also known as 'mupis'. With this action the City Council aims to provide content a public space so far transparent.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez and the councilors of Culture, Ana Pellicer, Urban Scene, José Ramón González de Zárate and Urbanism, Lourdes Caselles, have examined and verified the installation of the new indicators with which it is intended to offer citizens information punctual of the municipal activity and the cultural offer in the municipality. Likewise, the programming of outdoor exhibitions is planned periodically, with a diverse theme, complementing the offer already made from the Boca del Calvari Museum, l'Hort de Colón, l'Espai d'Art, etc.
The initiative gained momentum after the success of outdoor exhibitions such as the 'Fotofestival Benidorm' that during the days of July and August occupied parks, gardens and some of the most emblematic areas of the municipality. The new installation of the Carrasco will allow, in addition, that these can be in the months in which the cold or the rain can damage to the exposed works since the panels will protect them of the inclemencies meteorological.
This new municipal intervention complements the work that was carried out months ago with the renovation of the children's playground, located a few meters up in the same Glorieta del Carrasco, provides the area with more services and makes it a cultural reference of the city.
