The City Council will have to contribute more than 150,000 euros.
Benidorm City Council will have more than 1.9 million euros in subsidies to hire up to 125 young people under 30 years for twelve months. The mayor, Toni Pérez, reported in a press conference that the City Council has achieved all the funds requested to the Ministry of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Labor under the plan 'Avalos Joves +' within the National System of Youth Guarantee. A plan that is divided into two programs of grants for the hiring of qualified and unskilled youth, called EMCUJU and EMPUJU.
The mayor stressed "the tenacious work done by the technicians of the Department of Employment directed by Mª Jesús Pinto, through the Agency for Employment and Local Development (AEDL), which has culminated in obtaining this grant." A work that has gone hand in hand with the Department of Personnel and that has allowed "to detect what are the professional opportunities that can be offered to our youth from the City Council and, from there, trace the job profiles that are intends to incorporate the programs ".
Pérez recalled that within the EMCUJU program, the City Council requested 819,211.56 euros to hire under the apprenticeship regime 53 under 30 years with a degree in Vocational Training, Diploma, Degree or Degree; and another 1,099,287.84 euros charged to EMPUJU to do the same with up to 72 unskilled youth. The City Council, meanwhile, will have to provide in two years a total of 152,292.56 euros to co-finance the contracts for work or service of the latter.
The mayor explained that within the first group "it is planned to hire qualified young people who can provide their services in different municipal departments such as the Economic, Tourism, Education, Heritage or Urban Planning"; while in the second group it is proposed to employ children under 30 years of age to clean the natural environment, to monitor facilities or as laborers.
Pérez has clarified that "the bases of both programs prevent hiring people to cover positions included in the Public Employment Offer".
Once the subsidy has been obtained, it will be the Servef who carries out the pre-selection of candidates based on the list of positions offered by the City Council. Subsequently, it will be a commission of scale which will be responsible for selecting those who will join both programs.
The mayor has appealed to young people under 30 years of Benidorm to "if they have not done so, register in the National Youth Guarantee System", a procedure that can be done in the Youth Information Center. In the same way, he stressed that "it is important that they update their data in the Servef if they have improved their training since they registered, as it is a key issue for their pre-selection in one or another program."
