This call has so far been the one that has allocated the most money to this concept, with a total of 86,800 euros
Benidorm will approve on Monday the fifth remittance of aid for the creation of new companies worth 6,800 euros
Seven other entrepreneurial projects will benefit from this remittance with amounts ranging between 800 and 1,200 euros
Next Monday, the Local Government Board of Benidorm City Council will approve the fifth remittance of municipal grants to support the creation of new companies and entrepreneurial projects registered throughout the year 2023, the financial amount of which amounts to 6,800 euros. The Councilor for Employment and Local Development, Mónica Gómez, explained that these contributions are part of the line of aid launched last August by the City Council for a total amount of 80,000 euros and advanced that in this resolution there will be a total of seven the new companies and self-employed workers who will benefit, who will receive between 800 and 1,200 euros as support for starting their business activity.
With this new remittance, the amount allocated by the City Council for this concept amounts to 86,800 euros per year, the highest amount of all the calls made so far, that is why it became necessary to make a budget modification as it exceeded the money initially planned. Mónica Gómez has specified that "we were clear that we did not want anyone to be left out of this call."
Gómez has insisted that the objective of these subsidies is to “promote economic promotion and job creation in our city”, either through entrepreneurs who have established themselves in the last year as self-employed workers with tax domicile in Benidorm and are registered in the town, or as people not registered but who have registered as self-employed, with tax domicile in the city and have processed an opening license at the Benidorm City Council between October 1, 2022 and September 30 2023, having also started its economic activity between these dates.
Regarding the business projects that will receive this aid, the Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion explained that this fifth remittance, as in the previous four, covers various activities and services, which accounts for that “the business fabric of Benidorm is alive and constantly evolving.”
It is worth remembering that last year there were a total of 75 entrepreneurial projects that received this municipal aid, for which a total amount of 74,000 euros was allocated. Given this high number of aid granted, the Local Government Board agreed in this new edition of 2023, at the proposal of the Councilor for Employment, to double the amount initially planned, going from the 40,000 euros reserved in previous years to a total of 80,000 For this year, they have finally become 86,400.
Mónica Gómez has pointed out, however, that as has happened in previous editions, this budget “is modulated according to the needs to try to meet the greatest number of requests possible,” which in her opinion reflects “the sensitivity and commitment of this government to the local productive fabric and entrepreneurship.”
