The company that has developed the application has chosen this party in the English zone being the ideal for its large volume of attendees, about 40,000 in this edition
The Fancy Dress Party held yesterday in the English zone of Benidorm has been the event chosen to test a new 'app' for geolocalized security alerts. This pilot test developed by Notico, a subsidiary of the Deveryware group, has arrived in Benidorm with the Innovation Area of the Managing Entity of Smart Tourist Destination of Benidorm City Council and the Valencian Institute of Tourist Technologies (Invattur) in collaboration with the department of Citizen Security. The councilor for Citizen Security, Lorenzo Martínez, explained "we were given the opportunity to test this new application, Notico SAFE, which is in the testing phase" and the City Council considered an opportunity to delve into "that effort that Benidorm is developing in everything related to the concept 'smart city' and to apply the possibilities offered by new technologies in the field of security. " This tool, called Notico SAFE, is a real-time alerts service for smartphones that allows you to control and visualize the sending and receiving of information at all times, enabling a more agile and accurate decision-making to all parties involved in the devices. Security of events in which important population centers are concentrated. Both Martínez and those responsible for Notico have agreed that the Fancy Dress Party was "the ideal event to launch this pilot test and check the capabilities of the tool," as it is a meeting that concentrates tens of thousands of people in an open space. Specifically, this edition of the Fancy Dress has been the most multitudinous in recent years, with about 40,000 attendees, mostly of British origin. About 40,000 people in disguise that from the last minute of the morning concentrated in Gerona street and surroundings to live an event that was born a few years ago coinciding with the end of the Major Patron Saint Festivities in Benidorm, which has become a demand and appointment essential for thousands of British tourists and that in this edition released parade of floats. The pilot test, supervised and coordinated by Notico's team of experts, was structured in two phases - training and practice. The latter was developed during the parade of floats and consisted of the management and dissemination of notifications, warnings and / or alerts in real time. The instructions were sent to the app previously installed in the smartphones of the users participating in the pilot experience and that were part of the health and safety device: responsible for the area of Public Securityt, the department of Fiestas, Local Police, Civil Protection, Red Cross and event organizers, among others. Notification management was carried out from the Local Police Control Center and consisted mainly of sending traffic cuts, since the parade of floats closed without incident or attentions. During the pilot test, Notico SAFE has allowed to see in situ the uses that the public authorities and the bodies responsible for the security and citizen attention can do with this service to maximize the security in the nuclei of population. The director of the institutional relations of Notico, Bertrand Casse, explained that "the future of the organization of security and Civil Protection devices in acts of mass influx goes by betting on technological solutions that facilitate the coordination and sharing of data on the event, recommendations and self-protection measures that allow us to provide our citizens with the highest level of security. " He added that "security is part of the success of smart cities and Benidorm is among the pioneering cities."
