Benidorm City Council resumes on February 1 the disinfection of the accesses and facades of commercial establishments, hotels and services in the city, as announced today by the mayor, Toni Pérez, who recalled that this service "is not new , since we already implemented it during the first wave of the pandemic ”. The mayor has indicated that this service joins "the work of disinfection of public spaces" that has been provided uninterrupted "since March", as well as the special disinfection service on public roads and access and common areas of buildings which will start operating in the coming days and for which more than a hundred applications have already been received.
The mayor has indicated that this service for disinfection of establishments begins on day 1, knowing that, based on "the impositions of the last decree of the Generalitat Valenciana, bars, restaurants and cafeterias" may resume their activity from 00 : 00 hours on February 4 ”.
Unlike the service designed for communities, the service for establishments does not require prior request, since disinfection "is carried out outside the premises, from the public highway." However, for any questions or information, you can contact the Department at the email cleaningviaria@benidorm.org or the phone 966815498.
This service will be provided from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the support of a hydro-cleaning vehicle and a brigade of four operators in total.
Toni Pérez has reported that "from today we are also doubling efforts and resources in the disinfection of municipal services and facilities", in which "a greater influx of people" is expected in the near future due to the processing of various municipal aids or services .
The mayor has stated that throughout the pandemic "the planning" of measures by the City Council against Covid-19 in terms of disinfection "have had the approval of the citizens" and "also of other public administrations." In fact, the Ministry of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Commerce and Labor has awarded the City Council a grant of 267,822.92 euros to offset part of the cost of the measures adopted and carried out by the Consistory to support the commercial and artisan fabric during the pandemic, and more specifically those related to disinfection of establishments or adaptation of markets and open markets.
Toni Pérez has stated that "Benidorm City Council has done its homework well, since it presented a project that included the measures implemented, for an amount of around 300,000 euros, the Ministry having resolved to subsidize 90% of that amount".
Finally, it has been revealed that according to reports from the Engineering area, 65% of the resources allocated to disinfection in the first months of the pandemic were for work in public spaces, access to health centers and health facilities, social centers, centers for the elderly, essential services, parks and walks, bus stops and entrances and exits to educational centers. 15% was invested in disinfection of comun areas of buildings; and the remaining 20%, in accesses, terraces and facades of commercial establishments.
