The Benidorm City Council will start tomorrow, Friday, April 17, the second installment of the municipal program 'Menjadors a casa', with which more than 1,000 minor beneficiaries of the type B, C, D, E and F - those not included in the 'purchase vouchers' system implemented by the Department of Education. As in the first installment, the families of these minors will receive gluten-free menus consisting of first courses, main courses, fruit, dairy and water. On this occasion, each family will be given menus for 5 days, although once refrigerated they can be consumed within a period of up to 20 days.

In addition to all this student body, and as it did last week, "the City Council has also planned to attend to the minor beneficiaries of the Type A grants who have had incidents in receiving the 'purchase vouchers' from the Ministry," according to explained the mayor, Toni Pérez. To the cases already detected previously -about 60-, those transferred in recent days by others affected, as well as by schools, have been added, to which last week collaboration was requested in order to know all possible incidents. .

In this regard, Toni Pérez recalled that "the main purpose of this‘ Menjadors a casa "municipal program is precisely to guarantee the food resources of the entire school population. Hence, once this objective has been achieved and children with scholarships from B to F have been treated, and even though they are not within the competence of the City Council, we have paid special attention to possible incidents among the beneficiaries of type A scholarships, since they are the ones with the greatest needs ”.

The mayor has reported that, as it has been communicated to the beneficiary families, the delivery will start from 09.30 at the points enabled by the City Council in all the neighborhoods of Benidorm and that are located in the Casa del Fester, the José Llorca Linares social center, the Les Caletes Municipal Children's School and the CEIP El Murtal, Ausiàs March and Els Tolls.

He has also indicated that "we are going to take advantage of the distribution of these menus to inform users of 'Menjadors a casa' of the recent approval of direct social aid launched by the City Council to alleviate the effects of the health, social and economic crisis caused by the coronavirus. " Aid to which 1.4 million euros have been allocated, which can be requested as soon as the corresponding rules are published in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP), and which include aid of up to 200 euros per month for a period of three months. In this way, the single-member family units that meet the requirements will receive a total amount of 600 euros; while the two of members, will receive 750; 900 euros for three members; and 1,050 euros for four.

In this way, when collecting the menus, the nearly a thousand beneficiary families of ‘Menjadors a casa’ will receive a letter with all the information on these direct social grants.
