Benidorm has shown solidarity with the Ukrainian people, joining the silent rallies organized throughout the national territory by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) to transfer "support and affection to all the people who are suffering at this time the consequences of the war” caused by the invasion of Ukraine. In this silent rally at the gates of the City Hall, the mayor, Toni Pérez; members of the Municipal Corporation; representatives of the Red Cross and neighbours.

At the end of the rally, the mayor reported that "the City Council continues to manage the collection of humanitarian aid for the victims of this conflict at the four places set up for it: Palau d'Esports l'Illa, 'La Torreta' social centre, 'José Llorca Linares' social centre and Casa del Fester”. A few places, Toni Pérez recalled, "to which the educational centres of the city are added" -CEIP's, IES and Municipal Nursery Schools-.

In this regard, Toni Pérez has pointed out that “at the moment, and according to reports from the Consulate of Ukraine, first aid medical supplies, non-perishable food and baby products such as diapers and baby food are fundamentally needed. Hence, it has been decided to focus the collection of humanitarian aid preferably on this type of products, thus attending to the most pressing needs”.

Thus, people who want to collaborate with the Ukrainian people can provide medicines (painkillers and anti-flu); Sanitary material (anaesthetic and hemostatic suture material, preferable kits with needles), hemostatic sponges, syringes, alcohol wipes, thermal blankets, hammocks, ischemia cuff, thermometers, pulse oximeters, adhesive patch and medical bags).

The mayor has stressed that "currently, clothes are not needed."
